2018 small finish and a clean up

Hello my quilty friends!
Today I have my first finish for 2018.
It is little about 16" x15", but fun and a scrap buster. I spent the first few weeks of 2018 cleaning and tidying up my sewing room. After trying to get things done for the holidays...it was a mess. Now it is looking better. I now have 8- 20 gallon bins for my scraps and I have them organized by colors.
Here is what they look like and I am happy, now when I do paper piecing I can just pick the bin and scrounge through that rather than a big basket full of scraps.
there is even room for more scraps.
I also got rid of a dresser, because my sewing room was the guest room, and added a bookcase.
I am so happy with this....it now feels bigger in there.
Let me get back to my finish.

I have had this pattern for a while and yesterday I saw it on someone else blog as a UFO, it reminded me that I have it and I got to work!  Pattern by Quite play pattern called Geometric Sewing machine.
It was a fun paper pieced pattern and love how it turned out.
Did I mention that I used some scraps....I do need to use more. Thinking about crumb sewing, I don't know how long its been around but this looks like a good way to use up scraps. If you have not heard about it check out you-tube and search crumb sewing thousands of videos pop up.
I even used scrap bindings for my binding.
I did an easy diagonal quilting on it, about 1.25 inch wide. This little cutie will be a great addition to my cleaner sewing room. Thanks for stopping by and until I see you again....wishing you Quilty Hugs~ Heide

  1. Lovely, and if your machine needs a cover, this is perfect. A great start to the year.
