Flower power mini

I have another mini to share with you this week.  I am pretty proud of my self with this one. I down sized a pattern that I am working on changed it up a bit and turned it into this mini complete with stem and leaves.

I used the fabrics, Strawberry fields by Joanna Figueroa. I bought about 10 fat quarters back in April and was not sure of what to do with them. Until I thought of this project. The background is a cream swiss dot.
On another note, I have been pretty busy with the house. one of my goals this summer was to freshen up my kitchen. I painted and made new valances for my windows.
I fell in love with Kim's (Exquisitely Unremarkable)Valances that she made for her breakfast nook.... I really fell in love with her roomy breakfast nook with a corner of wonderful window, but my budget did not include two new walls of windows! So I settled for new valances. Kim was kind enough to let me know her valence measurements and  I found these panels at Marshall/Home Goods in the clearance area for $22. I only used one of the panels for both windows.
and Turned them into these.
and this

My drab kitchen went lighter and brighter with a few coats of paint and some new valances. I am very happy with the new look and these valance were easy to make. If you have any questions feel free to contact me.
Thanks for stopping by...until I see you again, wishing you Quilty Hugs ~ Heide
