star pillows.

Hello my quilty friends, I have two pillows for you today.  A little bit of decor for the 4th of July. These chairs are in my breezeway and I always like to have a little something to add some color and these are perfect for July. The pattern is from Lori Holt- Bee in my Bonnet. I am doing her Bee Patriotic quilt along. The quilt is coming along and I am so excited about it. This pillow was a little extra on her blog.
Here is a closer look at the dark blue one, all made with scraps. This cutie is headed down the road to my friends front porch. Now I did not use any of Lori's sew simple shapes. She has a few other cute little projects on I am a paper crafter and happen to have circle and star dies.
Here is a closer look at the teal, red and blue pillow, I 💗 this one.  Again all made with scraps.
This is what I will display in breezeway.  For the back I did a simple envelope closer so I can just slip it on and off.
One more look before I go at the two pillows together.
Hope you have a safe and happy 4th of July. I know i will be having to put my poor Guinness in the basement, due to the fireworks. The poor old guy it terrified of them.
Thanks for stopping by and until I see you again wishing you Quilty Hugs~ Heide

  1. Your pillows are great! Very patriotic and fun :) Is your porch in deep shade so the fabric won't fade?

  3. Ooh, thanks for the reminder about the 4th of July -- my 9-year-old pup is not a fan of fireworks! I'll be curious to see how our 8 month old puppy does, though. When we have a really bad thunderstorm, he actually barks back at the thunder!! :-). Your patriotic pillows are fabulous -- I especially love the combo of the stars and circles together! What kind of pillow inserts do you use for these breezeway pillows? Are they special outdoor inserts to resist mold and mildew, and if so, where do you get them? I'd like to do some pillows for our screen porch, now that you've inspired me!
