This weekend I tried to fit as much sewing as I could in. I was working on the itty bitty little star in Halloween fabric. I love the look of little itty bitty things, I am not a big fan of sewing itty bitty little things, wish I knew this when I bought this cute little pattern.
Here is another little start to the little wall hanging pattern that I got. I think if I ever get brave enough to work on this again, I would do it a little different from what the pattern said. The directions want you to sew 1" X 1" squares together. I would sew strip sets and then cut down to make the 9 patch. I made my self a little 2 X 2 star mug rug to use at work hoping to brighten up my work space.
So just dont look at the quilting, I was tired and did not even bother to change to my machines walking foot!
I even tried a new binding technique that I saw at MSQ on the Friday You Tube tutorial. I really like this new technique and want to use this on a larger quilt.
I also have been looking at patterns for Union Jacks. I work with a few girls from England and I thought maybe for Christmas I could sew them up cute little mug rugs for their cup of tea. A lot of the patterns are paper pieced and I did not think I was ready for this kind of technique. So in my search I found this great tutorial over at Molli Sparkles.
Not bad for my first run at this!
Wishing you quilty hugs, Heide

I love your little Halloween mug rug! Good idea to sew the strp set. I have been working on a Christmas quilt with a similar block (but much larger)I came up with this year but still much to go. I like your posts and your blog. ;0)
