Too Oinking Cute!!

 I started with this.

This is the almost finished project!

Is this not the cutest block ever! I can not believe that you can make just about anything with fabric.  I have this finished and it is pinned and ready for me to try and machine quilting. I am a little hesitant about machine quilting...I am not very experienced nor is my machine the greatest quilting machine. I do not want to mess it up.

I want to make another if I have time, for a Niece and Nephew that live up north. They both raise pigs for 4H and then show them at the Newago Co. fair.

I followed the easy step by step site from Sew Fresh Quilts. Lorna wrote this great post.
She has wonderful easy directions and lots of different ideas. I could not resist and had to make this block. Sew Fresh Quilts has lots of other, fun patterns and so much eye candy.
Hmm....Whats next on my long, long, long list???

  3. This is so cute! Why don't you straight line quilt it with a walking foot? I find that way less intimidating than free motion. Good luck on the quilting!

  5. Heide - this is just darling!! I love the color choices and the border fabrics too. This would be so much fun to quilt - you can stitch in most of the ditches and do some loops around the outside of the piggy -- then do few sweet swirls in his nose and ears - it would be darling. I host a community group on Facebook for Free Motion Quilting - join us there if you're on FB. Free Motion Quilting Frenzy -- its FUN! (PS - thanks for stopping by the blog).

  6. Thanks for dropping by! Oh, this is a fun quilt, great fabric. I think, I've used the pink one myself in a quilt.:)

I've used the Flying Geese the first time myself, they were great. I have a vague idea of using them again in a table runner.

    Cheers,
    Julia

  7. That is brilliant! don't be scared of machine quilting, it's really not that bad! I sew on an entry level sewing machine. I invested in a walking foot and a darning foot and use them for quilting. I'm no expert and my quilting isn't great, but it's not bad, and most of all, it's fun.
