Large Quilt art design giaffe.

About a month or so ago I was looking at a blog, Quilt art Design and Janeen was looking for a pattern tester for this beauty. I told her I would like to give it a try. I love paper piecing and I don't consider myself a beginner so I did not think this would be a problem. I got real nervous when I got the pattern and it was 100 pages,  YIKES!
Well...I put my big girl sewing pants on and got to work on this large 40" x 50" piece. I had my husband print this out at work, I knew my little home printer would not be able to handle it. I started taping this big boy up. I think I had a few choice words as I was working on this but it got easier and easier as I worked on it.
Here he is before I sent it off to the quilter. As for sewing this pattern up I had no problems and it went together perfectly. I am so happy that I asked to give this pattern a try. Janeen's patterns a great and such wonderful detail on them.
I love this eye!
So in the end would I do this again, you bet! I love the challenge and of course I now have this beautiful quilt. I learned at lot while making this about myself and paper piecing.
Thanks for stopping by and until I see you again Wishing you Quilty Hugs~ Heide

  4. I would have freaked out at 100 pages then have my husband print it out, too! But... one page at a time, this came together beautifully, and the quilter did a fantastic job. I love it!

  5. He turned out beautifully! I too love Janeen’s pattern and her generosity. She’s always offering freebie PP patterns. I once sent her a photo she turned into a PP pattern for me. I went on to win honorable mention at a show on the quilt I made from it!
