Hello and Welcome! Today I have a big finish for you. Back in August I shared with you a post of some finished quilt squares that I had just completed. Well......here it is all put together and quilted by my friend Diane at Creative Stitching Services on FB.
Here is a photo of the back which is just as beautiful to me as the front! Diane did a wonderful job with the quilting. The fabric is by Moda and it is called French General.
Here is where I got the pattern from.
Here is a view of the side fabric.Below you can see a little peek of the rug that we have on the floor and the wall colors, the colors of this quilt are perfect.
One last look before I go. I did do one major mistake can you see it? I was so excited about using it on my bed that night I washed it......Well......you all know what happens to red......RIGHT???
It is weird only some of the lighter fabrics turned pink. I even used two color catchers. You live and learn. If any of you have any ideas how to get the pink out of the lighter fabrics I would love to hear you hints. Thanks for stopping by and until I see you again. Wishing you Quilty Hugs~ Heide

I think it's beautiful. Wow!
ReplyDeleteI just love French General and this quilt shows it to perfection!!
ReplyDeleteIn the past I have had success with a color remover product from Walmart. It will take that extra color right out!!
In an aside, I couldn't figure out why all of my quilts were running, and then I discovered that my husband had switched the lines when installing our new washer and the cold was screaming hot!! The color remover requires HOT HOT water, so just be aware... you shouldn't get much more shrinkage. I love your quilt just as it is!!!! XX!
Lovely star quilt. I don't usually go for pinks but its a beautiful combination of fabrics. Love it.
ReplyDeleteYour floor rug, the pillows, the paler grey bed flounce, and then your quilt, they all go beautifully together. I would not have noticed at all if the red had run.
ReplyDeleteVicki Welsh has some good tips on dealing with this on her blog.
ReplyDeleteYes Vicki Welsh's article is called "Save my Bleeding Quilt".
ReplyDeleteVery informative. You've got a beautiful quilt there!
I sent you an email, but it was returned. I asked if you had the pattern for your header photo quilt? Your own, a purchased one or is it online or in a class? I like it so much, and would be happy to buy, or receive it. Greetings, Jean.
ReplyDeleteIt's absolutely lovely!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt, looks great in your room!
ReplyDeleteSuch a shame about the colour bleeding! Hope you find a solution. It's a fantastic quilt!
ReplyDeleteI love it! I actually thought the pinks were intentional, so it looks natural and planned to me!
ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely gorgeous ♥
